With a reputation for her polished live act and spectacular voice, pop/soul songstress L.A. Mitchell become one of the most in-demand musicians in the country.

Alongside her own songwriting and releases (in 2009 she was named first songwriter in residence for Auckland University) L.A. has toured with Dave Dobbyn, AHoriBuzz and Sola Rosa. She opened for Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie at their New Zealand shows and, as a member of Dukes supported Blondie and Pretenders. L.A. has performed with Bic Runga, Tim Finn, Guy Sebastian, Dane Rumble, Stan Walker and the Urban Soul Orchestra (U.K).

L.A. Mitchell has released two self-produced albums and has collaborated on two EPs with electronic producers Isaac Aesili and D:UNK. Her dance track When It’s All Too Much and pop song Apple Heart were Top 20 finalists for Silver Scroll song of the year.

After a year’s break to have a child she returned to live performance as a member of collective Fly My Pretties and a new project, Terrible Sons, a duo with her husband, former Dukes frontman, Matt Barus.
