Teenage North Shore turntablist, DJ Logikal is a regular stand in for P-Money on 95bFM’s ‘True School’ Hip-Hop Show and has a #1 on the bFM Top Ten.

Oliver aka DJ Logikal is from Auckland’s North Shore; a soon-to-be resident DJ at ‘Fever’ in Takapuna, a graveyard-shift radio personality on Auckland’s famed 95 bFM and the winner of the M2/Jim Beam video competition which granted him $10,000 at his disposal for his second single ‘Verbally Decapitating’.

‘Verbally Decapitating’ is Logikal’s second single (his first was ‘Logikal’s On A Rampage’) and is going to be featured on the Round Trip Mars Records’ release ‘Sideways Too’ after it’s numerous successes on BFm’s ‘Safari Lounge Top 10’ which is entirely based on listener request maintaining the #1 spot for 2 straight weeks.

Logikal credits his experiences with Hip Hop through The Beastie Boys. From there the interest turned into infatuation “One day one of my friends dad was throwing out this old turntable – it wasn’t a DJs turntable – I got a hold of that and started scratching on that to start out with. Then I saved up some money and bought some gear, then got some better gear.”

Being one of New Zealand’s second generation turntablists and citing the now-world famous P-Money as one of his many influences, Logikal is very open about his beginnings in the industry.

Logikal comes across as a very humble and focused young man. Not only that, but he had an opportunity to meet and greet the legendary DJ Craze on his recent tour to New Zealand “He came up to the True School Show at bFM which I was hosting that night. He had a scratch which was wicked” Logikal praisingly states “He’s a really nice guy, which helps, you know? He’s got the skills, and he’s a nice person.”
