Dos-Ovni Announces New Single ‘Big Rock’

Doomgaze duo Dos-Ovni, hailing from Te Matau-a-Māui, has released their sixth single, Big Rock, on February 7, 2025. The track is accompanied by an official music video.
Big Rock was written and recorded in just a few weeks leading up to a planned studio session. The song explores the themes of humanity’s insignificance and fragility when compared to the power of nature, depicting a meteor wiping out human civilisation. Only animals and nature survive.
The band’s producer Nick Blow from Sister Lung Records incorporated samples from NASA’s public domain audio archive, using “sonification” to transform space telescope imagery into audio frequencies. Specifically, sonifications of the Carina Constellation and the Ring Nebula were used.
