Outside In Share New Single 'garden Of Light'

Influenced by prog-sensible rock bands such as A Perfect Circle, Tool, and Radiohead, Outside In meld progressive elements with alt-rock anthems, producing a sound that is distinctly their own.

The Garden of Light relates to a chapter from the Hermann Hesse book Siddhartha, which inspired songs for the entire album.

“From my perspective, The Garden of Light is almost a prison of over-simulation and over-indulgence, yet nothing fulfils the hunger,” explains frontman Mikey Brown.

Multi-layered soundscapes nestle beneath powerful vocals, surging guitars and a rock-solid rhythm section – an instrumental combination sure to turn you outside in.

The band continues to bring their unique vision to life, once again filming and starring in the song’s music video themselves, with help from director,Ashton Brown (singer Mikey Brown’s brother) .

The video gives a nod to Michael Douglas’s 1993 cult classic Falling Down, and depicts Mikey trapped in a neverending time loop in a Groundhog day-esque nightmare.

The tracks from the forthcoming album Karmatrain were also recorded by the band themselves, with mixing duties outsourced to Dave Rhodes (Blindspott, Head Like a Hole).

The Garden of Light is now available from SpotifyBandcamp, iTunes, and all good digital outlets.
Outside In will be performing on May 11th at The Thirsty Dog, alongside fellow prog acts Gravity Road and Mothra. Head to Facebook for more details.

Praise for Outside In:

“Weaving together chunky riffs with a delicate and considered vocal performance, Outside In’s new track demands attention.”

“…every future listen reveals more and more. There is a complexity and weight to the music. The vocal isn’t the only melody as the rhythm section creates its own pulse throughout and all is delivered through an alt rock filter…”
