Timothy Blackman Announces 'brightest Days' Lp And First Single 'by The River'

Home Alone Music are proud to announce Brightest Days , the new LP by recording artist Timothy Blackman. It will be released on September 16, 2019. It is the first new album from Blackman in eight years, written during a period of time spent hiding out on the East Cape and on his return to Wellington.

Ahead of the release, he is sharing first single, By the River, and an accompanying video, directed by Hamish Waterhouse with cinematography by Bill Bycroft, which is set in South Wairarapa.

The record was made in his typical raw DIY style by first time recording and mixing engineer Brooke Singer (French for Rabbits) in her Brooklyn apartment in Wellington. It was mastered by Al Green (Greoni). The LP includes additional instrumentation and vocals from Singer, and Lucy Botting (Girl Boss).

Blackman’s last full length record, 2011’s Everyone Needs Something To Hold On To, assumed the bare, emotional Pacific Northwest sound. The new record is emotionally direct and imbued with weighty detail reflecting on past relationships. Reminiscent of Mt Eerie, Sun Kill Moon and Chris Knox.

Upcoming dates with Lake South: 31 August in Wellington (at a secret inner city location).
