A Place For All Of The Creative Sector To Be Together

Arts Industry Online Hui Series
Presented by the Performing Arts Network of New Zealand & Auckland Live

PANNZ, in partnership with Auckland Live, invites the creative sector from across Aotearoa to come together through a series of weekly online hui, at the beginning of each week, over the coming month.

These regular hui offer an opportunity for us to gather remotely, connect, and get up to date as a community, and each week are facilitated by Barbarian Productions’ artistic director, Jo Randerson.

The inaugural hui on March 30 March focused on the Creative New Zealand emergency response funding announced earlier this week, and its effect on arts workers. Alongside Jo was Cath Cardiff, senior manager Arts Development Services at Creative New Zealand, Megan Peacock-Coyle, PANNZ chairperson and manager of Toitoi – Hawkes Bay Arts and Events Centre, and Cat Ruka (Ngapuhi, Waitaha), artistic director of Tempo Dance Festival.

The next hui, scheduled for Monday 6 April at 11 am on our Facebook event and Youtube, will focus on festivals, and invites artists, regional festivals, venues, and presenters to share how we approach events and audience engagement for the future.

A panel of industry experts and stalwarts comprised of Auckland Arts Festival chief executive, David Inns; Tawhiri (New Zealand Festival of the Arts, Wellington Jazz Festival, Second Unit and Lexus Song Quest) executive director, and Arts Wellington chairperson, Meg Williams; and Te Tairawhiti Arts Festival chief executive/artistic director, Tama Waipara (Ruapani, Rongowhakaata and Ngāti Porou) will talk through the issues and offer professional and personal insights and feedback on ensuring festivals remain a vital part of the arts ecology in Aotearoa.

Everyone is invited to the hui, and welcome to attend and contribute. You are not alone. We are in this together. He waka eke noa.
