Big Scout Release Single ‘Flung’

Here we have Flung the newest single from Blenheim’s guitar bashing wastrels, Big Scout. Flung is the third single recorded and produced by Brian Feary (of Melted Icecream fame). The first two Height of Fashion and Head Out The Window were picked up and played by student radio stations throughout NZ and Height of Fashion even got a little air time on National Radio. Flung continues in Big Scout’s tradition of mining inspiration from the sort of outsider punk championed by SST Records, or closer to home Melted Icecream’s own T54 and Salad Boys.
Flung is the story of a friend who went through Marlborough’s St. Marks drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Only in the song, rather than relapsing hard she fakes her own death to return to her childhood home of the idyllic far-North.
Flung is the first of four recorded singles to be released over the following months.
