Lost Tribe Aotearoa & Otium Present: Hometown

In Aotearoa you often hear people talk about the incredible musicians coming out of city centres such as Tamaki Makaurau and Wellington, Hometown serves as a reminder of the talent residing in Regional New Zealand.
Waikato & Tai Tokerau have given rise to some of Aotearoa’s best and brightest such as Kimbra, Alien Weaponry & Troy Kingi. Lost Tribe Aotearoa & Otium hope to join the list of Regional greats one day.
Hometown was born from a desire to celebrate the reemergence of live music in a post-covid world, but still keep it local. It is a two show, weekend run, taking place in each of the band’s hometowns. Kicking off in Whangārei on Friday 21st August before winding it’s way down South to Raglan on Saturday 22nd of August, Hometown is shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend. There will be lots of laughs, jams and introductions to each other’s friends, whānau and local supporters.
Both Lost Tribe Aotearoa and Otium were incredibly grateful to be a part of Creative NZ funded Raglan Roast Live earlier this year. A live streamed series supporting musicians and production crew as they recovered from the slew of cancellations brought on by COVID 19. It was through this series that the two bands reconnected, got talking and came up with the concept of a weekend hometown swap with each band taking on the headline slot at the other’s home town. A way to share the love, reconnect with old fans and hopefully make some new ones.
