Princess Chelsea Stars In Trash Recital — New Episode Out Today

UTR presents Trash Recital, produced by Sports Team

Princess Chelsea performs ‘The Forest’ — Episode 7 / Season 2

We’re thrilled to share the seventh episode of UTR presents Trash Recital Season 2 — starring Princess Chelsea, produced by Sports Team and made with support from NZ On Air!

Watch Princess Chelsea perform The Forest | Trash Recital Season 2 Episode 7 HERE.

For each episode of Trash Recital we’ve invited some of our favourite Aotearoa artists into the UTR studios to perform one of their songs, re-created using everyday items selected from Sports Team’s stockpile of recycled junk. Trash Recital not only provides a launchpad for stunning reimaginings of recent (and soon to be) classic tunes, but also the perfect opportunity for a chinwag with our local musical heroes.

Our new episode stars Princess Chelsea, the globally beloved project of Tāmaki Makaurau songwriter and producer Chelsea Nikkel. Creator of streaming hits Cigarette Duet, I Love My Boyfriend and 2022’s infectious Sometimes (a collaboration with French singer Mattyeux), Princess Chelsea will be launching her fifth studio album Everything Is Going To Be Alright on 7th October via longterm label compadres Lil’ Chief Records. Princess Chelsea and bandmates Jasmine Balmer (Being.), Simeon Kavanagh-Vincent (Lucky Boy^), David Harris (Sulfate) and Josh Worthington-Church (Galaxy Bear) dropped by UTR’s fabled trash zone to perform a new version of latest single The Forest, reinvented on the spot using a portable DVD player, wobbly saw, tubes, a big spring, plastic bags and more.
