Summer Thieves announce album release tour

With their new album set for release, Summer Thieves have announced two special headline shows in September, playing Meow in Wellington on Saturday September 9 and an all-ages show at the legendary Powerstation in Auckland on Friday September 15.

To celebrate the release of their new album, Summer Thieves will bring their energetic live show to Auckland and Wellington this September for two special shows.

Auckland will be blessed with their largest headline show to date at the iconic Powerstation, bringing PARK RD and The Dawns with them in support. The Auckland show will be all ages, with tickets (for both shows) on sale Wednesday July 12.

Hot off the release of their new single Ride and hard at work on their debut album, PARK RD will bring with them their electric live show which is seeing their audience continue to grow with each performance. Up-and-comers The Dawns will open the evening, bringing their indie-rock sound that has them pegged as an act to watch.

Supporting Summer Thieves in Wellington is Will McClean. The Wellington-based hip-hop artist will be bringing tracks from his new album Don’t Forget To Breathe with him for this show at Meow.

Summer Thievesare looking forward to bringing their new album Cigarettes In Space to life in these two special shows. Featuring the latest single, ‘Slow Down’, which features a singalong hook and an infectious melody which they’ve become known for, the new album shows the maturation in Summer Thieves’ sound.

Cigarettes In Space is Summer Thieves’ third full-length album and is out August 18 (available for pre-order now). After 12 months that has seen the band sell out tours across NZ, play some of the country’s biggest festivals, and return to Australia, the album showcases a band at the top of their game. Embracing rock, alternative and pop sounds, the album sees the band pushing their sounds further than before, while staying true to what has brought them this far.
