Cake is Emerson Kole’s latest single and part of the forthcoming EP Haunted.

Cake is a song about betrayal and imagined revenge, and Emerson expresses this in her trademark dark yet playful way – “Don’t try to run away – ‘cause I came to play!”

Producer Ben Malone works sonic alchemy on this single. Bringing heavy beats and ominous keyboards into the mix with Emerson’s amazing voice led to the creation of an incredibly catchy, dark pop masterpiece.

“I had so much fun with this track – from writing the lyrics, to working with Ben to make it sound amazing and creating the aesthetic for not just this single but the rest of the forthcoming EP”, Emerson said.

The release of Cake signals a new beginning for the artist (who previously released her work under the name Erin Myers). Emerson Kole is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter based in Kirikiriroa, New Zealand. She wrote her first song at the age of 15 that went on to earn her a spot as a finalist in the Play It Strange Lion Foundation Songwriting Competition, 2019.
