Ekko Park Release Haunting New Single ‘The North’
New Zealand’s finest rock exports, Ekko Park, have released their hauntingly beautiful next single The North.
Frontman Joe Walsh has called Auckland home for decades but his early life growing up in Ireland never strays from his heart.
As an autobiographical story, The North hits home for Joe
He comments on the song; “The North is the story of a broken man trying to put the pieces back together, to make sense of the senseless. Questioning what it means to be ‘home’. The what, who, where and why. It’s peeling back the layers of memories decades old, hoping to find peace in the present day.”
In contrast to Ekko Park’s usual punk rock energy, The North commands your attention with a simple guitar melody and Joe’s haunting vocal delivery.
The black and white video for The North amplifies the songs impact on the listener.
