Matt Hay Drops ‘Lonesome Kind’ Music Video

Pōneke country and Americana singer-songwriter Matt Hay is releasing the third cut and a fresh music video from his critically acclaimed new album Dog and Pony Show this Wednesday.
Lonesome Kind is a heartfelt country ballad about how sometimes we all just want to get away from our lives and be alone with our thoughts. Favourable comparisons have been drawn with the plaintive mid-70’s style of country rocker Neil Young. In his recent glowing review of Dog and Pony Show erudite music critic Graham Reid (www.elsewhere.co.nz) wrote “Lonesome Kind finds him heading off on the road at a slow walk carrying a simple melody which is both immediately familiar and affecting.” We couldn’t put it better than Graham, really.
The music video was shot at Wellington’s west-most point, Mākara, which totally suits the ‘lonesome’ vibe of this fine piece of country craft.
